Today on TheSurvivalBlog, a contestant who won third place in a writing contest posted his review of the Royal Berkey Water Purification system. He won the Royal Berkey as a prize which LPC Survival, Ltd. sponsored for the third placing winner. Here is an excerpt from his letter:
“The first item I want to review is the Royal Berkey water filter. When I received the box I was impressed with how well packaged the item was. I then removed the filter from the box and I must tell you these look even better in person than it does in the pictures. I was also taken with how small it actually was. I had always imagined something the size of the tea dispensers you see in restaurants. Instead it was closer to the size of a coffee percolator, a large one, but still smaller than I expected, very impressive for something rated at four gallons of flow per hour. The box contained everything I would need to get started except the water….”
Now, we are selective of contests that we sponsor, especially because we receive too many sponsor requests to adequately consider. But, we have enjoyed sponsoring JWR's SurvivalBlog & supporting his reader base & look forward to continuing to do so.

I would love to win this system, we live out in the country surrounded by farms and have a well , when the farmers use their pesticides and fertilizer I worry that this would get into our well system. Also I love the fact that this can work off the grid.
would really love to win one of these
I love Berkey filters, that would be awesome to win one. Can’t drink gross tap water,
I hope this is the right place to leave a comment… I’ve only heard and read about the Berkey’s fantastic water filtration capability. Getting one is on my list of needful items for my own emergency preparedness, but it is difficult to reach the goal when there is so little extra cash for even the basics!!
I would love one of these to help our well water which we cannot drink right now
This system may very well be the answer I’ve been looking for! My husband and I have made the decision to move off-grid. Totally and completely off grid, to the mountains of Kentucky. We refuse to connect to any government water or power utilities. We just had a long discussion last night about water filtration and our options…this may be the very solution we have been searching for! Many Blessings!
I too hope this is the right place to leave a comment. I still use a distiller and am ready to move on. My mother-in-law has a Berkeys and a family friend of mine who was also distilling just recently bought a Berkeys. Ive done some research and would LOVE one, but unfortunately cant afford one. So Im hoping to win one. Thank you so much for the opportunity.
Great information! Thanks.
You’re welcome Heidi! Thanks for the comment!
